We nurture budding writers. Since the last three years, Educare has been promoting writing skills among youngsters. Last year, on the occasion of 150 years of the 1857 event, we had organised the competition on the 'Great Revolt'. This year, Educare invites stories for another burning issue of the day.
Environment has never been such a big issue as now. With ice sheets melting and glaciers receding, global warming and the consequences thereof are staring in our face. IPCC, headed by Dr RK Pachauri, has drawn world's attention to the need for an urgent response, and has emphasised that the world has just four years to save itself from the irreversible consequences of carbon emissions. You, as the future of the world, would feel the concern equally, for ultimately, this impacts your lives as well.
How can you make a difference? By penning your thoughts and coming up with path-breaking solutions, for one. After all, it was a child who suggested to scientists that since pens can't work on Mars because of absence of gravity, why not use a pencil?
What makes an impact is the way a thought is presented. What better way to present your solution for a carbon-free world, than in the form of a powerful story? We leave the field open to you, to create your plot and characters.
