Am I Healthy or SLIM?
Loosing weight is increasingly becoming an obsession with people these days, but are they doing it the healthier way?

Jyoti K. Singh
New Delhi, December 20:

‘I want to fit into the red dress I used to fit in six months back.’

You can encounter the phrase anywhere. At office, there might be a colleague who is obsessed with the idea of re-gaining his/her childhood avatar, there might be people at school/college or in the neighborhood too who want to loose weight and that too fast. But all these people are interested only in losing weight. No one is concerned about the method and how healthy is their method is an after thought. However, what can prove beneficial in the long-run is a healthier way of shedding those extra kilos.

Aspire for a healthier you, which would entail laying more emphasis on your overall health that is an amalgamation of both physical and mental health. Once you adopt a healthy lifestyle, your eating habits would automatically get changed – cutting the fat intake and workout sessions would get easily accommodated in your busy schedule. This would naturally enable you to emerge out as physically fit, mentally strong and emotionally stable human being who can thrive well in the hectic and stressful scenarios.

Try to include as many colors as available in your diet – the natural ones – yes; I am suggesting fruits and vegetables. Raw veggies would help clear the digestion system thus easing your system. Dairy foods must also find way in your daily diet for milk in itself is a complete food. Also try to eat whole-grains like Ragi, Oats, and Brown rice etc. This coupled with Yoga or Meditation would help you stay calm. Remember, the objective is staying healthy therefore not only physical but also mental efforts would be required.

Just monitor your intake of calories and exercise a little self-control. Rest assured, your slimmer self would definitely follow.
