New Delhi, May 24: Ever since the evolution of mankind, humans have been constantly seeking new forms of entertainment for themselves. In the pre-historic times it started with dancing and hunting while the medieval ages saw gladiators showing off their fighting skills in an arena studded with dignitaries. Modern age entertainment was kick started with the advent of television and radio.

Now, in the digital age, people can indulge themselves in the leisure of all the past ages and also of the future. If you think that I am talking about a time machine, then you are mistaken. I am talking about the wondrous, exciting, thrilling and fully awesome world of gaming!

Yes, computer games, console games, video games and arcade games just changed the face of entertainment in the digital era. Games of this eon redefine the art of entertainment. These games can take the players right to the evolution of the first bacteria on the earth in a game like Electronic Art’s Spore to the highly futuristic racing simulation like Wipeout. But what does it take to build a game which will grasp the human imagination? What lies behind the screen and who does that? The answer is a clan of immensely creative and tremendously talented team of game developers and graphics and animation masters who put in all their might to achieve one singular goal – A game which will enthrall the audience.

A game design team is a convergence of many different teams which come together to work on a single idea. The creative team will initiate the design for the game. It decides upon the concept, format and other basis for the game. This will purely be a foundation work. After the final idea is put on board, the design team starts working on it. It builds up the characters, game environment and other graphical details. Now is the time for the game developers to step in. These are the people who put the static caricatures visualized by the creative team and drawn by the design team into motion. This requires great skills and knowledge and the professionals at this place are highly paid for their work. Testers are the ones who will subject the game to an intense round of tests to ensure that the product delivered by them is bug free. Their job is to ensure that the people who play the game do ultimately reach the final purpose of the game without a glitch.
