Lowell C McAdam

Education: BE (Mechanical Engineering) - Cornell University; MBA – University of San Diego; Licensed
Professional Engineer

Career Path: Lowell McAdam started off his career in the US Navy Civil Engineering Corps and joined Pacific Bell in 1983. He worked at Pacific Bell till 1993 in a variety of positions, including Vice President (Marketing - Bay Area). In 1993, he joined AirTouch Communications as Executive Director (International Applications & Operations) and spearheaded ventures in Europe and East Asia. He also served as Vice President (International Operations).

He then became CEO and President of PrimeCo Personal Communications. In 2000, he joined Verizon Wireless, becoming CEO in 2007. Later he served as COO and Executive Vice President. In 2010, McAdam took over as President and COO of Verizon Communications and was also in charge of the company’s network-based business and technology management. In August 2011, McAdam took over as CEO, and on 1 Jan 2012, assumed the role of Chairman. He also serves as the Director of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association.
