Man Booker winner
Aravind Adiga’s debut novel which recently won the Man Booker prize has raked up the minds of the critics enough already. Fighting against Amitav Ghosh, Adiga won the prize for The White Tiger. The hero of Adiga’s book Balram Hawai, shows the readers a picture of rural India where a teeming number of people live untouched by the country’s growth and development. The critics have done their job, whipping the novel, saying it does not show the real picture of India. Adiga was one of two Indian writers who had been nominated for the award alongside Amitav Ghosh for Sea of Poppies.
A canine story
Director Jugal Hansraj’s Roadside Romeo, which has the voices of Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Javed Jaffrey for the lead roles, is the latest buzz of the tinsel town along with Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion. Roadside Romeo is an animation film, which is about a whacky romance between a rich canine who one fine day finds himself on road, alongside street dogs, and a slum bitch, Laila. The music of the film has been given by Salim-Sulaiman.
