q Outdoor opportunities: What could be better than flying high to get a high in life! The glamour attached to flying has always fascinated humans. While when we talk of flying, we can easily relate to airline pilots, flying is fun for paragliders, too!
Paragliding took birth in the Alps and soon drifted into the Himalayas. In 1991, with the help of two instructors from the UK, the department of tourism, India, sponsored training for six Indian pilots. Out of the six, three continued, and today there are a number of paragliding pilots.

of all trades’: Passionate about success and ready to take on the world, Abhishek Humbad represents the face of young India. He is young but has already taken the plunge to fulfill his dreams. Based out of Mumbai, Humbad is currently a IIIrd year student of engineering in BITS-Pilani. He recently proved his leadership mettle by winning the second position in Tycoons 2008, an all-India hunt launched by Career Launcher India Ltd in association with Jaago India. Inspired by Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad, he decided to learn about money management and investments when he was in the first year of his engineering. For that he took Rs 25,000 from his dad with a condition to return the amount after a year. Humbad not only returned the amount but made profits as well. Thereafter he founded the Wall Street Club, the investment club at BITS-Pilani, the first of its kind in India. It has managed excellent returns of 33 per cent and 37 per cent in two semesters of operation.
